 singing sensation seeks cover band
« Result #1 on Mar 10, 2004, 6:59pm »

Attention crazed musicians,

Singer with all the talent, needs musicians with the drive, connections for a world-conquering Led Zeppelin cover band...

I know (and love) all the songs, have an INTENSE passion for belting them out, and want to start NOW

If you share the passion, want a lead singer who can do it right, and have the dream, then lets get it on...

Send an email to anthonyt3@hotmail.com, and hear the best f**king singer you've ever heard...maybe we'll pull a few birds as well...

 TV Presenter Courses
« Result #2 on Jul 19, 2003, 5:03am »

I've been receiving a lot of requests about courses for presenting television shows. Very few exist, though I have managed to find one. (The only thing I would say though is it is unlikely you'll get a job as a tv presenter straight away, so it might be advisable to have a more wholistic understanding of television production.)

From: http://www.talentonline.co.nz/resfiles/oniongroup.html

Onion Media Group, Television Presenters training courses, workshops and show reel creation.

Contact: Nick Piper
Base: Sydney, New South Wales
Mobile: 0405 462 781

"The Courses cover all the necessary aspects of television presenting including practical tuition and exercises for better presenting, types of presenting, styles and scripting, plus looking for agents, marketing yourself, showreel production and approaching television networks."

Beginners Courses $99 in Sydney and $150 elsewhere

Project Workshops $50
This workshop will use one camera to every 2-3 people. The focus will be on shooting projects throughout the day. This type of workshop encourages on-camera performance but also creative scripting and direction. Each individual will have the opportunity to view and critique their 4-5 projects. This course provides a great opportunity to workshop ideas, collaborate with talented aspirants, spend time on camera and have the opportunity to assess other projects and presenters.

Advanced Workshops $50
Plenty of scripts and audition pieces to perform. This session caters for the individual who needs practice in a performance setting. You will be placed in performance situations as well shooting PTCs and a mini-project. You will be surrounded by people who are motivated by the same things so it is a chance to mingle with equally driven and determined.

If you find other courses, or participate in this one, please let me know. I'd love to hear how you got on.

 Continuity
« Result #3 on Jul 19, 2003, 4:19am »

Someone was asking about Continuity at monster.com.au:

"I... have become more and more facinated with continuity. I have tried my contacts in the television industry for help in this area but knowone (sic) can help me on how do I get started in this area... I know of a short course at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School but they are having trouble getting someone to teach it. This is all I have found out.
I am very interested in this area but there is no infomation anywhere on it."

I found a course on Continuity:

You can get a list of the courses offered from Openchannel.org.au in PDF here (http://www.openchannel.org.au/oc/pdf/oc_courses_july_dec03.pdf) or otherwise go to their site: http://www.openchannel.org.au

(The direct link to this information is http://www.openchannel.org.au/oc/training/courselist.html though you will have more limited access to the site this way because of the website's use of frames.)

Anyway hope that helps. Please let me know how you get on.
